Amberle is a spayed female who has been with me since 1988. I adopted her from Chicago's Anti-Cruelty Society when I finally got an apartment allowing me to have cats. She was already estimated to be about 5 years old when I adopted her, so she is definitely an "old" cat these days. She has the softest fur I have ever felt on a cat, soft as rabbit fur. She likes to perch herself up on the highest spot in the apartment so she can be queen of all she surveys.
